Shelbe Vollmer, DVM, MPH

Dr. Vollmer was born and raised in Columbus, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies and earned her B.S. in Zoology with a concentration in cell and developmental biology in 2013. Following her undergraduate career, she earned her Master’s in Public Health at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2016. She then attended Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2021. During her time in veterinary school, she was accepted into the Equine Summer Fellows Program where she lived and worked at an equine hospital in Pennsylvania for three months. Shelbe also spent a summer as a student researcher in Iowa City, Iowa, where she evaluated canine study patients on the presence or absence of canine Visceral Leishmaniasis.
Shelbe’s professional interests include primary care, ophthalmology, dermatology and surgery.
She and her husband are excited about their move to the East Coast. They have adopted one very opinionated cat named Eugene. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
